Clean Room Chemistry Lab

The chemistry metal-free class 1,000 clean laboratory (Fig. 1) at the University of Arkansas was built in early 2008, and it has 400 ft2 of workspace with HEPA-filtered air. A portion of it has been converted to a modular class 100 clean lab in 2015 by the PI. There is one vented laminar flow hood and one chemical fume hood. This laboratory is equipped with two DST-1000 Savillex and one DST-4000 Savillex acid purification systems, a Thermo Barnstead GenPure Pro water purification system, and a Mettler AE240 balance. The lab is maintained in a metal free condition for processing trace element and isotope ratio samples.
